Five questions with Mike from So Damn Gouda:

1. What inspired you to start your company?

I’m a trained chef and an entrepreneur but also have three young kids, so restaurant hours are almost impossible. I also realized that most cheese shops are setup to accommodate the community that they are located, leaving much of the city without access. I knew that Denver would benefit from a easy “on-demand” artisan cheese plate delivery service.

At the end of the day ‘We deliver happiness!’ I have yet to make a delivery and somebody be disappointed to receive a cheese tray and most of my business is repeat business meaning that they see the value of the service and product.

2. What’s your favorite thing about So Damn Gouda?

My favorite part of So Damn Gouda is…probably the name! Seriously, I think people are truly happy when they receive a SDG platter and they know that whether you are a host entertaining, or an office manager in charge of catering you know that you are providing a unique high-end product to your guests. I actually my tell customers to take credit for making it so they can be the star of their party.
